Uniformed (or rather, Uninformed) Miscreants

"A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, THRIFTY, brave, clean, and reverent."

Last night we attended the boys' Pack Meeting. As always, the event concluded with refreshments; in this case cookies. There was a variety of cookies: animal cookies, chocolate chip, and . . .

. . . chocolate-chocolate chip!

To ensure everyone was able to receive their just desserts, we were instructed to "please allow the scouts and children to go first."

What insight do these leaders have about the eating habits of the parents?! I laughed at the comment, while quickly scanning for the piggie parent (or is it ME?) and wondering if my curtains were really doing their job at keeping my secrets out of view. But that's for another post.

Let's skip ahead to the car ride home. The boys were comparing their loot, when Brandon announced that he had tasted all the fares, and was currently on his FIFTH cookie, a delectable chocolate-chocolate chip cookie.

Then come the cries: "What?! That's your fifth? How did you get that many?" Oink oink.

"I just kept taking them!" my THRIFTY Wolf Scout beams. Hmmmm, how resourceful. "I'm a FUDGITIVE!"

Clever, right? Chocolate-chocolate chip cookie thief . . . fudgitive. We thought so too and giggled in appreciation. Until he added, "Hey, I'm serious. I was being chased!" He actually thought that was the proper pronunciation for fugitive!

How funny! You boys are just growing to fast :-) You guys look very "handsome" in your scout uniforms.

Nice!

Well, I hope YOU were able to get some of those chocolate-chocolate chip cookies too!

"That's the way the cookie crumbles!"

I have been giggling about that all day. So, I had to put it down on your blog, seeing it is fitting for this experience as well. I think you should put it over there! It makes me smile.

(I'm a sicko I guess!)

That is funny. What gives with the scouts. Do they not know that they need LOTS of desserts so that EVERYONE can enjoy. That is pretty funny. I'm guessing in the past that the parents were scarfing them down before the kids got to them.
